PUNJAB JEWELLERS AND SONS - A 100 Year Legacy

We went to Aminabad in Lucknow to try Awadhi food. While our driver was parking across the street, I suggested that my mother cross over with me to look at the jewelry displays, as she was interested in purchasing gold earrings. My father is disabled, so we wanted him to be able to sit and wait comfortably. We approached the jewelry store and asked the security guard if my father could briefly sit on a nearby step. The guard, who did not speak English, responded aggressively through hand gestures, instructing us to move away. He was holding a rifle, which made the interaction particularly intimidating and caused us significant discomfort. As Europeans, we are not accustomed to being confronted in such a manner, especially in India, where we have generally experienced great respect and empathy toward elders and people with disabilities. We then went to a hotel next door, where an attendant kindly provided a chair for my father to sit. Needless to say, we did not return to the jewelry store. Punjabi Jewelers should seriously reconsider its policies and approach to customer service. They lost a sale today, and quite possibly many others before and after ours.
