Sundari Silks - T.Nagar, Chennai | Traditional Kanchipuram and Wedding Silk Sarees

I had the opportunity of visiting this business outlet in c/w a family function for purchase of wedding sarees. The sales team was extremely patience with all the care and love in displaying the available collection according to the price range sought and as well as the variety in silk sarees. The store is open from 9 am to 9 pm. It has about 3 floors. Though the store is for sarees, they have garments for children, girls , boys and men too, in different floors. A traditional welcome drink of buttermilk is offered. We did shop for more than a lakh during our three hour shopping. They have two outlets in Chennai and one in Mumbai. Besides clothing they exhibit beautiful hand made wooden toys, key chains, door hangings etc. A section is exclusive for curtains, pillow/sofa covers., a few of them were on discounted sale. Coming to their saree collection one must say they are exclusive with plenty of choices in appearing colours, designs, prints both traditional as well as modern to the likes of customers. Any one entering the shop won't go empty handed and I am sure they will pick up the saree to their liking from the collection available. Valet parking is available on the basement If one is tired or hungry they can go tonthe coffee shop onnthe third floor where tasty filter coffee, snacks, sundal, biscuits are available. Our family was satisfied with the service extended. They do have a system of alloting points according to the billing, the points can be redeemed in your next purchase. But, to my surprise, I was told that the points can be redeemed within a year. I suggest that it may be allowed for a more period as followed in other famous textile business.

These are the most sour-faced employees I've ever met. So unenthusiastic to show sarees. This is definitely the first time I was pressured every few shows of sarees to make a decision on whether I wanted it or not. The quality is good, I have to agree, but the designs not so much. Unfortunately, the grand exterior of the store couldn't compensate for their disappointing behavior.

I am so happy that I got exactly what I wanted without even visiting the store in person. Excellent service by Ms.Sridevi who patiently heard my requirements over the phone and checked for the possibility for customising my design ( madisaar for idol ) in the store. They even tried out a sample before stitching the one I intended to buy. I am so happy with the service provided , especially by Ms. Sridevi who took up the responsibility from customising to choosing the colour and fabric ( over call ), stitching based on my requirement till I got the dress delivered home .
