Sri Kumaran Silks (5 Maadi Kumaran) in T.Nagar, Chennai, is a reliable destination for saree shopping, and I've visited it multiple times with my family. The store offers a wide range of sarees, making it one of the best places for saree shopping in the area. The store is well-maintained, and there is a good number of salespeople to assist customers. One of the standout features of this shop is the competitive pricing, which is often better than other stores in T.Nagar, combined with a vast collection of sarees. However, the only downside is that the sales staff are sometimes hesitant to show all the available sarees. Despite this, Sri Kumaran Silks remains a trustworthy and longstanding option for saree shopping in Chennai.
Ample parking space available. The restroom is clean and odor-free. Visited during the Diwali week β the staff were courteous and helpful. The store offers a wide range of dress collections for kids and adults. Both elevator and stairs are available, though wheelchair access is not provided.
For the past 45 years, we (generations) have been Kumaran Silks' frequent customers. For any occasion, especially an engagement or wedding, we always choose only kumaran silks. If the action taken against Mr. Saravanan is not adequate, my uncle, a senior press reporter, would undoubtedly bring this problem to the public's attention. Below is a detailed note about yesterday's shopping. Together with my son-in-law and his family, we traveled from Pondicherry, Kanchipuram, Thoraipakkam, and Kolatihur to Kumaran Silks (T Nagar) to buy sarees and bridal dresses for my daughter's wedding. There were about fifteen of them scheduled for shopping. At around 10.30, we arrived at the store with two bikes and parked them in Kumaran Silks. The bike watchman gave us clear instructions that we would need to present any bills for Kumaran Silks when we returned. We went to the waiting space after saying "OK." We waited outside the waiting area for everyone to arrive because there was a delay in others' arrival due to rain. We began shopping in Kumaran silks as soon as everyone arrived via bus, CABS, etc. We began shopping for engagement sarees, went out to lunch, and returned at 3 p.m. for wedding sarees, lehengas, and imitation jewelries because the staff in the saree section was very courteous, cheerful, and welcoming. However, when we went to the men's area and requested for the matching suits or sharwanis for the saree we took, the staff rudely said, "This is what we have in stock," and hesitated to show them because there weren't many of them in the collection. We were dissatisfied with the customer service because no one was interested in upselling, while others kept buying sarees to give as gifts. Some of them went to Chennai Silks because of the lack of service in the Kumaran Silks Men's area, and they were delighted with the service they offered. Staff members were rushing around for the collections and opportunities, and we are happy to have selected one out of numerous options. They also gave us a lot of advice and encouraged us to buy in less than an hour while taking pictures and trails ( Bill amount - 28000/-). After the purchase, we happily left and came to Kumaran so that others may finish the purchase as well. By 7:45 p.m., when we had finished our shopping and left, the worst thing had happened. described above. I thereby ask the management to take the necessary action against Mr. Saravanan right away and teach him the basics of respectful conversation with seniors. Call me for further details with ref to bill number
Though I have been to this shop many times, this is the first time I went to purchase a silk saree for myself. Superb experience and collections. I purchased on the first floor and one salesperson was so patient and showed us more and more designs and let us select slowly. I feel silk quality is very good hereπ
Overcrowded, old building with good collections. Got a good deal with a silk saree. Parking space is available. To management - Please use the space available properly and distribute the sarees of middle class budget of around 25-40k range. I can see some places completely empty and some places overcrowded (2nd floor)
